Day 61 - A Rant

I wish less people would use photoshop when it comes to blogging.  I love to peruse different blogs to see swatches and learn about new companies, and just see how different things work for different people.  It's sad and frustrating to find overly photoshopped photographs.  Not only does it make it impossible to tell what the makeup actually looks like, it perpetuates insecurities.

I have yet to meet anyone who wasn't insecure about themself in some way.  It doesn't matter how beautiful, or thin, or what perfect skin or pretty eyes someone has, there is always something they don't like about themselves.  If I wanted to see faked perfection, I would buy a magazine.  I wish more blogs would stop photoshopping, and just post.

With that being said, here is a series of pics of me on one day, with makeup, hours after applying makeup, and with no makeup at all and getting ready for bed.  I am well aware my skin tends to be super red, and I had a zit, and I have pores and even red in my eyes (the horror!).  But imperfections are reality, and it's depressing how many people are in denial.

At least now I feel I have the right to bitch.  I don't photoshop anything, and I really don't care that I will never look 'perfect'.

  1. I couldn't agree with you more! I don't photoshop because, quite frankly, I don't know how! Even if I did I still wouldn't! You look just as great with makeup on as you do without!

    1. Yay, I'm glad other people agree! I have found that a lot of people agree, and it's nice to see blogs that aren't overly shopped. And thank you, I appreciate the compliment!
